This is the Pearl Geyser located at the Norris Geyser Basin. If you looked at my previous photo's of the Norris Geyser Basin, there were quite a number of pools with this opal-like look.

Hmmm, opal-like water = calpico?! O_O

This was taken at Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, USA in 2008.

With all that white crust around it, kinda reminds me of Death Valley... only there'd be nothing else around the pools, no trees, no green! That water is weird colored, that's for sure!

Very interesting, the park is the size of Connecticut- lots of variety in scenery and points of interest, despite what most people think. It's still mostly desert, that much is true. I'd recommend checking it out sometime, easy to get to from Las Vegas, where there's cheap car rentals. I'd say Late Sept.- Late Apr. is the best time, otherwise it's too hot there. A few weeks ago I saw 127 F... and it has the record for N. America, 134 F. That's the 2nd highest temp ever recorded so yeah... now isn't a good time to go there...

Oh wow! I heard about times when people shouldn't go outdoors around Arizona, but I wasn't aware just how hot it gets.

Hmmm.... Las Vegas huh? I haven't been there yet and I hear there are tons of deals you can get because tourism is down at that city. I'll look into it some more. Thanks for the info!

It gets hot in Arizona... yeah... and that's right about Vegas, especially with the current economic situation and all those rooms- they need to fill them somehow!
